Appalachian Arts well underway...still dyeing and this time using local black walnuts to color our basket weaving materials. We made small baskets, about four inches square, just the perfect size for candies. This was a first basket for all the kids. It was a bit of a challenge for me as I am battling carpal tunnel at the moment, but we managed nicely. Below is a sample of the first baskets completed. The remainder should be finished today. The baskets are resting on some of our indigo shibori dyed cotton. A good week so far....
